A Poetic Formal Letter to MEMAC Ogilvy

Listening to Rory Sutherland (vice-chairman of the Ogilvy) sparked an infinite interest in marketing in a young writer/social media marketer who’s fantasizing about both of us getting married and building a home together. I am thrilled to say I want to be a part of you (an unpaid internship) position at MEMAC Ogilvy Dubai , United Arab Emirates.  I am passionate about the new meaning of marketing, making marketing Psychological rather than logical. I would love to channel my skills as a writer and Marketing Intern. I'm not going to presume that you don't give a damn about the other ladies I've been with. So, while in Nigeria, I was in a relationship with a Tech company ( JD Lab ) as a writer and social media marketer. I don't typically do this, however, I became intimate with another lady (TEDxMinna) as a writer and social media Team Leader. I swear it wasn't long. I was in charge of managing the social media profiles and producing material for them. These women an...

The Slimline Between Opinion and Ignorance

In today's world, we get information from friends, family, and strangers online. We are drowning in information but this doesn't mean we are informed. Getting all the wrong information isn't knowledge. Knowledge is FACT.  You will often hear people say ``I'm entitled to my opinion or "this is my opinion during an argument even though they may not have even thought of the issue until that moment and in the place of an argument people hardly learn. All they want to do is make the other person believe in what they believe in So long as you ask for people's opinions, you will always get an answer. Sometimes when people open their mouths to air their opinions you lose the respect you had for them- in my opinion, this is true, what's yours.   it isn't right to accept people's opinions as fact.  F act is a statement that has been proven to be true, and of course with the use of evidence. Facts are true regardless of who chooses to believe in them or no...

Poem- Pussy

use the Word "PUSSY" As Y You use the Word "PUSSY" As a synonym for weakness How dare you call what makes makes you hard and spits you out soft, weak. How dare you? You forgot the pleasure it gives, and the baby words you spoke You call it weak, But it makes you feel like a man Mind your words

Missed Opportunity

I will tell the full tale someday, but for now, let's discuss the Better Half. One day, a friend told me about an opportunity and I was intrigued, so I took it. I was told not to come back the next day after a day's trial because the employer only required one person, and I wasn't that person. I was enraged since this program was designed for beginners, and since I am a beginner, I met all of the prerequisites. I went home pained, scrolled through the status of those who had shared memes on WhatsApp (I love ona die), l laughed, screenshot, and reposted. Funny enough, before I left the office, someone fresh arrived, so they needed additional personnel. Friends speculated that it was because I didn't say much during the interview; nevertheless, the friend who informed me of the opportunity said that as a friend of the boss, he could play politics and talk to the boss, and I would be given the opportunity; unfortunately, I declined. A month later, I learned that the compa...

WorkPlace Politics

Politics exists wherever there is leadership. At home, at church, at work, and so on. Politics in the workplace is unavoidable; but, if left unaddressed, it may bring a company to its knees. A long time ago, I consider everyone a friend. However, after being subjected to office politics twice by people I consider friends, I now refer to coworkers as "colleagues," and neighbors as "neighbors." Office politics develops when individuals abuse their positions of power to attain personal goals, often at the expense of their coworkers. Why take a colleague down only to prove you're worth the win when the purpose is to lift the organization, not take a colleague down? Colleagues take advantage of each other's flaws, faults, or naiveté to further their own goals.  Politics in the workplace manifests itself in the form of: 1. Seeing a coworker make a mistake on a project and then reporting them to your manager and volunteering to fix the problem." 2. Taking a sh...

My Tooth Extraction

It's scary that some occasion are permanent. Today l got my tooth out ( yeap, l got an extraction) and it dawned on me that l will never have it back. It will just be an empty room another tooth won't fill. I saw the tooth and l was like mehnn, it has 2 sharp points and I'm here thinking about the deep hole. ( will it ever be open or will close up?) I know I had a hole in my tooth, it was fun to look at and touch but I didn't know the implication. I wish I did, so last year pains started, mehn it got me wild, angry and couldn't eat or drink hot or cold water. Went to the hospital ( General hospital Minna)and the hole was filled. Happy me, l went living happily ever after. But if happy ever after did exist, I would still have my 36 teeth intact, so l guess it doesn't. The hole opened up- l dont know how but it did. I ignored it, you know l wasn't feeling pains until when the pains came. It was excruciating, disrupt my sleep, my eating, and constant right ear...

Some Publicity are Bad Publicity

I’ve heard marketers use the phrase “No publicity is bad publicity”.  I did agree. what did I know? I was new and still new in the world of marketing. However, it is expected that one day a child will grow up to disapprove of some principles he/she learned as a child. So, this is me saying I don’t totally agree with that phrase. The publicity that rips you off your title takes you back to zero is bad publicity. We all know Desmond Elliot-  maybe in the future some famous brand will endorse him as an ambassador but right now I’m certain no brand would pick him. I know he has followers but in business, he needs more than his followers.  We read about the (cripple lady) who sold sachet water and how she lied her way into people’s hearts and pockets until we all found out her true identity. Now, do you think any brand will want to publicly work with her? Except for a brand filled with thieves and liars though. The only thing bad publicity does is it makes you famous, probably...
