  I’ve heard/ read some tips from CV experts, like remove certain information from your CV (marital status, sex, religion, state of origin, age, etc). I know you’ve seen/read/heard about it too.  I don’t totally agree with them because they excluded a PS which I feel is very important. While they are the CV expert, they are not the employer or the head of any recruitment team.  Every company is different and so is their culture. Let’s take a scenario of a job advert Cynthia’s Media is a startup company, we have an opening for a female accountant between the ages of 22-30 years young with no prior experience, must live in and hail from Rivers State and is willing to stay longer hours and work remotely on weekends. Now let’s get out the keywords  Startup (hardly hire married people for many reasons) Female (Sex) Age  Location State of origin Longer hours So when you exclude the information above on your biodata your CV may be dumped- no it’s not your skills darlin...

 One day l was asked 2 questions and I am certain some people are still in search of answers. So today #LETS #YAN His questions 1. Why do employers ask for leadership/ management qualification from candidates who apply for roles that has nothing to do leadership? 2. Why outsource people to fill up managerial roles when the company has staff that has been working for years and know a lot about the company? In a bid to cut down the up-down chain of decision-making, employers are encouraging a hands-off approach. And for a hands-off approach to being effective, companies look out for staff with a leadership mindset who can think out a solution/ decision without waiting on the management especially when it's an emergency.  So the next time you’re being interviewed as a cleaner/gateman and you’re asked about your leadership experience don’t frown at it.  Secondly, I don’t know if there are leaders out there who will hire incompetent people for a management role.  But if y...
